Hey there! Have you heard about Gibela? It's a cool company that makes trains in South Africa. They teamed up with Ubumbano Rail, Alstom, and New Africa Rail to create this awesome company. Alstom owns most of the company, with 61% of the shares. Ubumbano Rail has 30% and New Africa Rail has 9%. Together, they are working on replacing old trains with new and modern ones.

Guess what? Gibela is offering bursaries to students like you! If you're planning to study in 2024, you can apply for their bursary programme. They cover a wide range of fields, including things like electrical engineering, computer science, and even welding! Whether you want to go to a university, university of technology, or a TVET college, Gibela has got you covered.

Now, let's talk about the important stuff. If you get the bursary, Gibela will help you with your expenses. If you're studying at a TVET college, they'll cover your tuition fees and give you some money for books. If you're going to a university or university of technology, they'll cover your tuition fees, books, accommodation, and meals. How awesome is that?


But remember, the bursary is given out for one year at a time. If you do well in your studies, they'll renew it for the next year. So make sure to work hard and show them what you're capable of!


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GIBELA BURSARY


Before you get too excited, let's make sure you meet the requirements. If you're studying at a TVET college, you need to be a South African citizen who has completed Matric. You should have achieved a minimum level 4 in Mathematics, Science, and English. You also need to be studying or planning to study one of the fields covered by the bursary.


If you're going to a university or university of technology, the requirements are similar. You need to be a South African citizen who has completed Matric. You should have achieved a minimum level 6 in Mathematics, Physical Science, and Accounting, and a level 5 in English. Just like the TVET students, you need to be studying or planning to study one of the fields covered by the bursary.


HOW TO APPLY FOR THE GIBELA BURSARY


Ready to apply? Great! Here's what you need to do. Gather all the necessary documents, like your ID, academic record, and proof of income. You'll also need to include a short CV and proof of acceptance from your institution. Once you have everything ready, you can submit your application by email or fax. Easy peasy!


    Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students need only submit the list of above documents to apply.
