Responsibilities Beyond the Road


Driving & Maintenance


The truck driver's primary duty is to drive and maintain the delivery vehicle and trailer efficiently. This includes monitoring fuel consumption to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.

Efficient Load Management


Ensuring all loads are delivered on time and in full is paramount. The driver must meticulously execute the daily load plan, prioritizing prompt deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the goods.


Asset Management


Accountability is key when it comes to managing company assets. The driver must take responsibility for all stock on the truck, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to client receiving and returns procedures.


Customer Service Excellence

Minimum Requirements for Success


Educational Background


A Grade 12 certificate is a non-negotiable requirement, ensuring a foundational level of education for the role.


Licensing and Experience


A valid code 14 driver's license with a PRDP and a minimum of 2 years' experience is essential. Additionally, heavy-duty driving experience is preferred.


Interpersonal Skills


The ability to negotiate and build customer relationships is advantageous, particularly for replenishment ordering.
